The progressive Paret completed a hat trick of victories with success in over 1350m at Rosehill on Saturday.
It wasn’t all smooth sailing for the $2 favourite as he went back from an outside barrier to settle last. Hugh Bowman had to pick a path through the field and the horse showed his turn of foot to win comfortably in the end.
“It got a little hairy there,” commented Bowman. “I had the horse and I had the room and when I went for it there was a bit of a shift but that’s racing.
“He’s a horse on the up. It is nice to be riding the horses with that kind of acceleration than racing against them.”
Chris Waller has earmarked the Group 1 Epsom Handicap as the likely destination for Paret with his next start set to be the Group 2 Theo Marks Stakes on the 8th of September.
Saturday’s victory was the fourth overall for Paret having also won on debut when earning a TDN Rising Star. he has now earned over $240,000 for the Devine’s and Morgan’s who own him.
The son of Harbour Watch was purchased at Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from Tyreel Stud for $110,000.
