Imported galloper Mister Sea Wolf bounded to a second successive stakes victory in the Listed Rowley Mile at Hawkesbury.
The last start winner of the Listed Winter Challenge at Rosehill has quickly racked up over $250,000 in prizemoney after arriving from Ger Lyons’s stable in Ireland less than 12 months ago.
Rider James McDonald had Mister Sea Wolf relaxed in middle field and timed his run to perfection to land the feature prize.
“It was an easy watch from the 400 (metres),” Chris Waller’s representative Liam Prior said. “He has really sharpened up with the blinkers on and is finding consistency.
‘It is good to see him put two together and he is on the right path heading to some of the better races in the spring.”
Mister Sea Wolf is likely to be given a chance at Group 1 level in the Epsom Handicap.
In a deal brokered by Mulcaster Bloodstock, Irish owner David Spratt shares in the ownership with Australian based Noel & Maria Greenhalgh and Peter & Patty Tighe.
Another Mulcaster Bloodstock sourced runner Alward, raced by NZ syndicators Go Racing, ran an encouraging first up race finishing into third with major staying races on his program this campaign.
