Light Work for Scream Park

The promising three-year-old Scream Park made light work of a small at Warwick Farm over 1600m to win his second successive race.

The son of Ocean Park settled second of the three runners, but the pressure was put on well before the straight. He showed his class as he asserted his superiority in the final 200m to win by nearly three lengths.

A maiden winner at his last start also at Warwick Farm, Scream Park is now being considered for a trip to New Zealand with the $1m Karaka Million 3yo Classic enticing trainer Chris Waller.

“His maiden win was on a wet track and he drifted out wide, today he struck a three-horse field,” Waller said.

“We do think he’s got a lot of ability, it’s just hard to measure against a small field and wet tracks.

“He had to sustain quite a long sprint, it was really good to see he had a high cruising speed, then he drew away in the last bit,”

Scream Park was purchased at the NZB Premier Sale from Lime Country Thoroughbreds and is from the first crop of Waikato Stud sire Ocean Park.

He is raced by Waller, Magic Bloodstock Racing, Mr F W Cook, Mrs C M Cook, Mr N A Greenhalgh, Mrs M T Greenhalgh, Mr R Shrimpton, Mrs C Shrimpton, Mr I Bruce, Mr R Smith, Mr P Y W Ng, Mr K H Warriner, Mr J T C Lake & Mr B L Mathieson.
